Week of November 26: Remembering JFK

Here's a link to an article from the East Anglican Daily Times in Ipswich, England, about films related to President John F. Kennedy. Both Kevin Costner films -  1991's "JFK," in which he played attorney Jim Garrison investigating the Kennedy assassination, and 2000's "Thirteen Days," in which he played advisor Kenny O'Donnell during the Cuban Missile Crisis - are mentioned.

"Waterworld": Now on Netflix

This week's premieres at Netflix include "Waterworld."

A movie premiere page, including a summary and trailer, is located at Waterworld on Netflix . It's also possible to access the movie on Amazon.com.

Those two messages are all over the movie, which illustrates perfectly the full effect of global warming. The world’s still there, but it isn’t what it was - as The Mariner, played by Costner, shows Helen, played by Jeanne Tripplehorn.

The movie title describes the planet’s condition...."

Week of 11/5: Kevin Costner, Gearhead

There have been some articles recently about a specially designed car made by Toyota for Kevin Costner.

In his films, Costner has had some association with vehicles, whether it's the 1930s cars of "The Untouchables" or the effort to pull Phil Hicks' car via railroad in "Fandango." Ray Kinsella's pickup is the vehicle for a significant part of his journey in "Field of Dreams." Butch Haynes' wish for a car drives the plot of "A Perfect World." Limousines guide scene twists in "No Way Out" and "The Bodyguard," while golfer Roy McAvoy calls a Winnebago home in "Tin Cup."

Costner has also narrated "The Ride of Their Lives," a documentary about NASCAR produced in 2009:
