Bodyguard sequel--Take with a grain of salt

Pay no attention to those tabloid reports that KC might be considering Jessica Simpson for a Bodyguard sequel (And if you're a respectable daily newspaper and have published it, give your editors a swat for letting it through.). At this point, the press wants a Bodyguard sequel more than anyone else.
To know the way Kevin Costner thinks in making movies is to understand that the only way a Bodyguard sequel could possibly be made is if there is a star or celebrity who absolutely transcends convention. Whitney Houston did at the time she was cast in The Bodyguard, and Princess Diana definitely did (I don't think she would have ultimately agreed to do a sequel, but I understand KC's motivation in wanting her for the film.).
In any case, Jessica Simpson does not fit that "transcends convention" category.
